FoxTale Book Shoppe is the place to be for all kinds of events, too. Authors have found a warm audience at FoxTale and readers have enjoyed meeting and conversing with well-known writers.

Recent visits include Mary Kay Andrews, Rick Bragg, Sonny Brewer, Steve Doocy, Silas House, Joshilyn Jackson, Terry Kay, Charles Martin and Kathryn Stockett and we even packed the park with Duane "Dog" Chapman fans.

Other events include Jewelry Workshops, Children’s Tea Parties, Journaling Classes, Dream Workshops, Holiday Parties, and Children’s Birthday Parties. There's always something happening at FoxTale!

Children's Story timE is every Monday and Saturday at 11:00 am in the Children's Room at the FoxTale Book Shoppe.  We read books appropriate for the child's age, and there is no age limit (really).  There is a dance/sing period following the reading, followed by tattoos and stickers before the children leave.  We love the kids and they have a lot of fun--we know we do!

Melanie Sumner, The Ghost of Milagro Creek -- "The story of Ignacia Vigil Romero, a full Jacarilla Apache, and the two boys, Mister and Tomás, she raised to adulthood unfolds in a barrio of Taos, New Mexico—a mixed community of Native Americans, Hispanics, and whites. Now deceased, Ignacia, a curandera—a medicine woman, though some say a witch—begins this tale of star-crossed lovers. Mister and Tomás, best friends until their late teens, both fall for Rocky, a gringa of some mystery, a girl Tomás takes for himself. But in a moment of despair, a pledge between the young men leads to murder. When Ignacia falls silent, police reports, witness statements, and caseworker interviews draw an electrifying portrait of a troubled community and of the vulnerable players in this mounting tragedy. Set in a terrain that becomes a character in its own right, The Ghost of Milagro Creek brilliantly illuminates this hidden corner of American society." Sumner currently lives in Rome, Georgia, and teaches creative writing at Kennesaw State University.
