It's official. I'm sick of the current state of the economy and the pressure it puts on everyone to go against their natural inclinations to enjoy life by spending money on simple indulgences. I mean, what's life about if you hesitate about having lunch with a friend or buying a new purse or for heaven's sake a non-essential NEW BOOK that a few weeks ago you wouldn't have thought twice about? How did it get to this point??? You truly do not want to hear my diatribe on that subject, as it really doesn't matter how and when the economy went in the toilet, just how we are all going to react to the situation. I know we have to be LOGICAL and REALISTIC, so let's hold off on those trips to Tahiti we had planned, and the construction on the 20,000 square foot mansion is definitely on hold, but let's not deny ourselves that which gives value and meaning to our daily existence. Who decides what's non-essential anyway??? LET'S ALL GO OUT AND BUY A BOOK. Today. At hmmmmm some cute little independent like . . . FOXTALE. Let's keep doing, moderately, what inspires us without breaking the bank. In fact, skip the lunches and purses and everything else EXCEPT BOOKS. Just kidding. I vote for living normally, eating, reading, playing, not to excess, but enough so we don't feel like soulless, cultureless automotons. Let's refuse to cave in to the economical scare tactics. Let's not allow politicians to blackmail us into emotional castration. Okay, that was a little harsh. Let's start a revolution, a LIVING revolution, one that promotes living like there's no tomorrow, or there is a tomorrow, and we want to be well read when it gets here.
Join the Revolution. Re-define non-essential. Come by FoxTale, tell us you REJECT the current pessimism and want to participate in the revolution, and we'll give you a revolutionary discount on something non-essential just for reading all the way to the bottom of this rambling blog.
