Monday, April 4th,
10:30am – 1:30pm, MY SILLY BODY LEARNING WORKSHOP.
Kids, meet your body and learn how it works:
My Silly Body unfolds into a life-size, interactive, die-cut
figure that teaches the basics of the human body. This book offers a
completely fresh, hands-on approach to engage children in just what it
is that so fascinates them about their bodies—from the organs to the
bones to the funny noises they make after eating too many beans. Kids
will take home a copy of My Silly Body of their
own.
Tuesday,
April 5th, 10:30am – 1:30pm, CREATING ORIGAMI FOR
YOUNG ARTISTS. Fashion a
fantastic animal parade that includes everything from tropical birds to
dinosaurs and lovable pets. Novices can get the hang of the simple
folding techniques and be well on their way to crafting a peacock with a
huge fan tail, a whale, shark, lion, owl, and mama and baby kangaroos.
Everything you need to start is included: the instructional guide
Beautiful Origami; 50 sheets of colorful 6" x 6" origami paper
in five varied patterns; and one completed flying stork for inspiration.
Get creative!
Wednesday,
April 6th,
2011, 10:30am – 1:30pm, GO FLY AN AIRPLANE! Back by popular
demand, this is one of our most popular kids’ workshops. Why? Because
all kids (even ones your parents’ age!) LOVE to fly airplanes. Miss
Maritza will show you how to use the book, KIDS’ PAPER AIRPLANES,
to turn color pages into planes that
look like a spider, a slice of pizza and a bat, as well as more typical
aircraft. And, when we’re done with construction, we’ll have a contest
to see whose planes fly the farthest. Sorry, adults, only kids are
allowed to have this much fun!
Thursday,
April 7th,
10:30am – 1:30pm, TURN OFF THE TV, LET’S PLAY GAMES!
Better for kids than television, the games
in the Kids’ Big Book of Games possess a full share of
educational virtues. They stretch the memory, improve language skills,
exercise logic, and sharpen visual acumen-without being homework!
The Big Book of Games spills over with eyeball benders,
scrambled comics, riddle searches, logic defiers, memory tests,
connect-the-dots, out-of-orders, mazes, crisscrosses, rebuses, and
more. For kids who believe that learning is fun, join us for a
mind-bending good time.
