About the Author

Mark is currently Assistant Principal at a mixed 11–18 comprehensive school in Devon and teaches English at GCSE and A Level. He starts an exciting new position as Northern Ireland’s first Director of Research at Carrickfergus Grammar School in January. Mark writes a blog about teaching English, writes for Emag (the English Media Centre A Level magazine) as well as contributing regularly to TES on subjects including pedagogy, behaviour, leadership, and educational research.
